The time of technology has come and with that
comes many dangers we never thought would happen. After all, technology is
supposed to make things safer and easier. In July, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles
realized the dangers they were in when they found out that 1.4 million vehicles
of theres can be hacked through the internet, leaving the driver completely at
risk. This also resulted in Americas biggest recall along with a hefty fine of
$105 million. Hackers who hack into these new vehicles can cut the brakes, turn
off the engine, steer t he car and the electronics shut off. Chrysler has since
released a network upgrade letting you prevent the hack and it will
automatically done with no fidgeting from the customer or dealerships.
Not all vehicles under the Fiat Chrysler
Automobiles had damaged reputation after this but the main vehicles were
2013-2015 Dodge Viper, 2013-2015 Ram 1500, 2500, 3500 pick up trucks, 2013-2015
Ram 3500, 4500, 5500 Chassis Cabs, 2014-2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Cherokee
SUVs. The list goes on with 2014-2015 Dodge Durango, 2015 Chrysler 200, 300,
along with 2015 Dodge Charger sedans and Challenger coupes. The total is about
1.4 million vehicles
So far, Chrysler has no idea of any injuries,
accidents, or warranty claims due to this hack. However that is not the only
problem they are encountering. There is also a recall program for more FCA
vehicles and program starts with a $100 inventive for Jeep owners to get their
recall fixed. The second program is a trade-in bonus for a small amount of
vehicles then the last is a buy back program. The buy back program are on the
